Sanko Ware ‘country flowers’ porcelain enameled steel oven-to-table cookware
I found an 8” pan at a local thrift store a week or so ago and then I found this 1.5qt pot at goodwill last night. The pot is unused, the handle was still wrapped up and unattached.
I should sell these since I have a relatively new set of SS cook ware but they’re so tacky I love them!

Today at the Goodwill in Flagstaff, Arizona I bought an owl shaped cookie jar for $3.99.
I know, how painfully Portlandia, right? I already have (a different) one that I found at a flea market in Tucson ($3) and my ass doesn’t even make cookies…so my attraction to this particular type of item confounds me.
Having two seems so strange and probably the official definition of a collection since it’s so weirdly specific, but I just couldn’t resist it. I really want to try and NOT turn this into a hobby, really. And then I got it home, and it’s value took an interesting turn.
I turned it over to Google it (because the last one I bought was made in the 40’s, is pewter and made by a company called Olde Tankardware and was easy to find online being sold on eBay and Etsy, so a somewhat common piece)…but lo and behold! This particular jar was handmade, therefore presumably the only one that exists in the whole world. There is an inscription on the bottom, too:
“To Ray & Evelyn
Love, Rain (?)
1977”Well, to Rain: your cookie jar is wonderful and in good hands in a loving home.
To Ray and Evelyn: you have made a grave mistake, assuming you are alive.XOXOXOXOX
